The tall, buxom bovine woman looked up from the blackboard, with its long, rambling lines of arcane text inscribed in chalk. "However, although our allies in the Mage's Guild often focus on the arts of destructive, or Dark Line Magic, it is forbidden by law for any Paladin to practice the Dark Arts. After all, we are champions of peace, not killers."
"Isn't that a little silly?" one of the young recruits asked. "I mean, after all, the enemy isn't going to limit themselves. Why should we hamstring ourselves by not using every weapon possible?"
"Tell me," Lady Luna said, patiently. "What is the most effective way of destroying an enemy?"
"Killing them, of course," the student said. "Then they can't hurt you any more. At least, that's what Lady Thessa says."
Lady Luna sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose. Damn Thessa. . . yet another class of young bucks more interested in glory than peacekeeping. "Wrong," she said. "The most effective way to destroy an enemy is to turn them into an ally. Meditate on this. Let's go out into the courtyard and work on our practicals." ------------------------
